Industrial visit to Uri-II
Department Of Electrical Engineering, Govt Polytechnic College Ganderbal conducted an Industrial Visit on 24th of June 2023 to Uri-II Power House for 4th and 6th semester Electrical Engineering Students.
The main objective of the visit was to provide students a first hand experience of the working atmosphere of the power station.The visit provided students a good understanding in power sector unit such as layout of a Run of River Hydro Power Station, Head Race, Tail Race,Turbine, MIV, Shaft Functioning of 11 kv to 400 kV Power Transformer Units, Gas Insulated Switchgear, control room working
The visit proved highly beneficial for students.Department of Electrical Engineering expresses sincere thanks to Er. Shafqat yousuf, Principal Government Polytechnic College Ganderbal for facilitating the visit and providing necessary support and guidance.
Visit to Z Morh tunnel
Gpc ganderbal civil engineering department organised a one day technical visit to Z MORH TUNNEL ( Gagangeer to sonamarg) built by APCO INFRASTRUCTURE LTD.
Students were briefed about the tunnel through model study after which onsite visit followed with detailed explanations by civil engineers, geologists, safety experts.
Various aspects discussed were geology of the area, structural features of tunnel, seismic response, and safety concerns.
Visit concluded with visit to materials plant where more briefing about advanced geotextiles was done.

- Government Polytechnic College Ganderbal organized Admission Awareness campaign on 24-08-2021 in the conference hall of Mini Secretariat Ganderbal in which Principals, Headmasters and other representative of all Hr. Secondary schools and High schools of Ganderbal district attended the meeting. Nearly 100+ participants were given awareness regarding the ongoing Admission process. Principal, Er.Shaista Shamim presented the PowerPoint presentation containing details related to the courses, Intake capacity, Infrastructure and other details regarding Admission Awareness.Pamphlets with detailed information were also distributed among the participants. The faculty from the Civil Engineering department and Electrical Engineering department also gave brief overview related to the details about the competencies, role of Civil and Electrical Engineers. They also provided details related to various internship and job opportunities available in the market.Details regarding various scholarship schemes were also given to the participants.During the meeting,various queries related to academic and other facilities were raised from the principals and headmasters.Principal, Government Polytechnic college Ganderbal patiently listened to the queries and gave on spot directions for their resolutions.The Principals and Headmasters assured that full support will be provided from their end regarding dissemination of information related to Admission among the students.Action plan was also framed for upcoming admission awareness campaigns in their schools.
