Govt. Polytechnic College Ganderbal is adopting professional and current best practices to be J&K's leading polytechnic, Providing superior technical education and life skills to maximize its students career prospects. Government Polytechnic College, Ganderbal was established in 2012 under Centrally Sponsored Scheme “Setting up of new Polytechnics” by Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, with the aim of having polytechnics in every district of Jammu & Kashmir State. The institution is administered by the J&K Department of Skill Development and affiliated to J&K Board of Technical Education.

This institution offers Full Time Three Years (03 Yrs) Diploma in following Engineering branches with intake as below:

Branches Intake Capacity

1. Civil Engineering ___________ (60+5) Seats.

2. Electrical Engineering ________(60+5) Seats.

3. Computer Engineering________30 Seats.

The institution also offers Lateral Entry Admission (Direct Entry in 2nd year of 3yrs Diploma Engg Programme).

For 1st year Admission: 10th or higher with more than 35% marks.
For Lateral Entry Admission: Passed 12th examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects or 10th +2 years ITI in appropriate trade.

There is No Age Bar.

Admission Fee: The Admission fee is fixed by the Government and revised from time to time. At present, the following fee structure is in vogue:

1st Year (1st Semester) =2348/- (including Rs 150 – as Govt. Revenue)
2nd Year(3rd Semester)=Rs.1898/-
3rd Year(5th Semester)=Rs.1898/-

Note:

The 2nd Year and 3rd Year fee should be deposited at the beginning of 3rd and 5th Semester respectively.
Fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances except Rs.200/- (Library Security Deposit).

Admission Policy:

Admission is strictly done as per the selection lists framed by J&K Board of Technical Education

Eligibility:

1.10th pass with 35% marks for 1st year admission to three years Diploma in Civil/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering.

2. 12th pass with Med/Non Med/ITI in the relevant trade for Lateral Entry admission to three years Diploma in Civil/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering.

Document Retention Policy:

Original certificates shall be submitted for verification to the college authority effecting admission.
